I'm trying something different for my class - I showed them the school mandated requirements for our next topic - to which they were "huh?" and "what does that mean?" So, having explained how it would be really great if we could incorporate all aspects of our curriculum into one topic, I got them to do some brainstorming. When I evaluated what they had put down we had a lot of pointers looking towards foods, and fast foods. So from that we've looked at how to integrate all the other curriculum areas into the topic of Fast Foods. I think it's going to be interesting to see their take on the topic as a whole and to see if their levels of engagement are increased because of this.
